More about the VW T-Roc

South Africans seem to have an insatiable appetite for SUVs and Volkswagen keeps obliging us with their range. The VW T-Roc is larger than the T-Cross and is positioned below the Tiguan. While the T-Cross is based on the Polo hatch platform, the T-Roc is based on that of the Golf - as is the Tiguan. This means that the T-Roc has roughly the same footprint as its big brother the Tiguan, but it's a smaller car.

Choose from the 1.4 litre turbo and a 2-litre turbo with all-wheel drive. Both models are only available with the DSG (auto) gearbox. The 2-litre is similar to the Golf R and is impressively powerful - even featuring a sports mode. The look of the car has a far sportier look than the Tiguan does, assisted by its lower centre of gravity. This results in better handling.

While the interior is more spacious than the smaller T-Cross, the boot space is about 10% smaller than that of the T-Cross so check that out if you are comparing the two. The T-Roc is really a statement car in that it is super-stylish.
