Audi's 2-door sports car has been produced since 1998 and is now in its third generation.
For each of its three generations, the TT has been available as a 2+2 coupé and as a two-seater roadster. The Audi TT features a front-mounted, transversely-oriented engine with either front-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and fully independent front suspension.
What does TT stand for? The Audi TT is named after the motor racing legacy of NSU (one of the four companies that merged to become Audi) in Britain's Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorbike race. The Audi TT also pays homage to the NSU 1000TT, 1200TT and TTS cars of the '60s. Some people attribute the TT badge to the phrase 'Technology and Tradition'.
